After record numbers in 2022, Mirmex is growing and currently looking for an Mechanical Design Engineer/Manager (M/F).
Responsibilities:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer/Manager, you design the very best electric micromotors in the world for a broad range of large OEMs operating on the medical, industrial, robotics, defense, consumer electronics and avionics markets.
Your main responsibilities are:
- Design micromotor products, motor sub-components, electromechanical systems, testbenches, or production machines for such micromotors by using Solidworks, Fusion 360, Onshape… or equivalent CAD software.
- Design, 3Dprint, and test motor prototypes and assemblies. Create BOMs and drawings in both 2 and 3-dimensional form.
- Interact with suppliers and source components or materials from vendors from all around the world.
- Perform failure analysis and incoming quality inspections with various dimensional, magnetic, and electrodynamic pieces of equipment.
- Create detailed motor design documentation and assembly manuals.
- Define, create, and maintain CAD and motor development methodologies per ISO13485 standard.
- Configure, deploy, maintain, upgrade, and master the company CAD software and associated roadmap.
- Participate to project meetings and work with the other engineering teams (electromagnetics, quality, field applications…) to develop, manufacture, and market mechatronics projects.
- Supervise assistant drafters, consultants, and other operators involved in the project design.
Profile:
- Master’s degree in engineering, whether Mechanical or Electromechanical, or equivalent work experience.
- Preferably 3-5 years of experience in CAD mechanical engineering. Or +5 years for a management position.
- Strong interest and experience in CAD software; this is a very design-oriented position. Solidworks, Fusion 360 knowledge is a strong asset.
- Passioned about analyzing, designing, and building ingenious technical solutions.
- Strong knowledge and interest in mechanics concepts and components (bearings, rotors, motor control electronics, electromagnetism, BLDC motors, pneumatics, fasteners, metrology).
- Creative problem-solver, team-worker and taking initiative.
- Hands-on and structured mentality, willingness to get your hands dirty to experiment and test the solutions you developed.
- Fluent communication in English (the official work language of the company).
- Willingness to travel 3-5% of the time for occasional customer and supplier meetings, mainly in Europe.
