You will join the Data Protection team, responsible for ensuring data security, availability, and resilience within complex and innovative IT environments.
Responsabilities
As a Backup & Storage Engineer, you play a key role in maintaining, evolving, and optimizing the Data Protection portfolio.
- Maintain, upgrade and manage our customer’s Data Protection portfolio
- Be responsible for operating procedures, data migration, and development operations (on-prem/off-prem)
- Take part in presales activities (respond to requests, present our customer’s Data Protection services portfolio)
- Assess and advice on possible technical solutions
- Provide solutions that are cloud-provider agnostic to meet customers’ needs and preferences
- Identify and communicate with major stakeholders and other third parties and partners
- Possibility to contribute to the design and evolution of backup architecture in close collaboration with the operational team responsible for backup, recovery, and data lifecycle management processes
Profile
- Master’s degree in computer science or a relevant field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience with Data protection Tools (DELL PPDM, NetBackup, Veeam, IBM Spectrum Protect...) and their Cloud possibilities
- ITIL knowledge and use
- Knowledge of programming languages like Java, PHP, Python, PowerShell, use of RESTapi
- Knowledge of most operating systems (Windows, Linux, AIX, …)
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure (network, storage, virtualization, containerization, security, HA-PowerHA, Clusters, DBs, …)
- Understand particularities of a mutualized infrastructure
- Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes/Red Hat OpenShift) is a plus
- Positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering quality work

- Ability to jump between projects
- Effective communication skills to work with customers, partners, business vendors, CxO, Business Units and Team leaders
